The sections of land we purchased had been cleared over 10 years ago, well before we acquired the property. Since then, the woodland has been slowly regenerating, but it is clear that it will take time and focused effort to fully restore its ecological health and diversity. As we follow the guidance of our Forest Management Plan, we are committed to supporting this natural regeneration process. This year, our work will focus on pre-commercial thinning and maintenance, which are critical steps in promoting healthier forest growth. The thinning process will help reduce competition among young trees, allowing the remaining trees to grow stronger and healthier, while the maintenance work will address any issues that may impede the forest’s recovery. Though the regeneration process will take time, we are dedicated to nurturing this land and look forward to seeing it flourish in the years to come.
